L’EM Normandie obtient le Label DD&RS / EM Normandie awarded the DD&RS Label

Le Comité de labellisation vient de décerner le Label DD&RS de l’enseignement supérieur à l’EM Normandie, pour 2 ans. Ce référentiel souligne l’engagement de la Business School et de toutes ses parties prenantes en termes d’impact environnemental et sociétal et la conforte dans sa démarche « School for Good », ligne conductrice de l’établissement.

Depuis 2015, le dispositif de labellisation, dit Label DD&RS – Développement Durable et Responsabilité Sociétale – de l’enseignement supérieur, couvre les 17 Objectifs de développement durable (ODD) définis au niveau international et se structure en cinq axes, issus du Référentiel DD&RS, balayant tous les champs du développement durable :

• Stratégie et gouvernance,
• Enseignement et formation,
• Recherche et innovation,
• Environnement,
• Politique sociale.

Il permet de valoriser nationalement et internationalement les démarches de développement durable et de responsabilité sociétale des établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche français. Il permet également aux établissements de monter en compétences au sein d’un collectif d’établissements engagés par leur participation au comité de labellisation ainsi qu'aux audits des établissements candidats.

Ces dernières années ont été marquées par de profondes mutations de la société. La jeune génération a formulé le vœu d’un monde plus équitable, juste et raisonnable. L’EM Normandie, héritière des valeurs sociales de son fondateur Jules Siegfried en 1871, s’est donc profondément interrogée sur l’impact d’une Grande École sur son environnement et a entamé, en 2021, une réflexion sur son plan stratégique. Le nouveau modèle « School for Good » mobilise toute l’organisation autour d’un projet commun : avoir un impact sociétal et environnemental positif à horizon 2030 et associer l’ensemble des parties prenantes, collaborateurs, étudiants, institutions et partenaires dans ce changement.

Dans cette optique, l’école a créé en 2021, la Direction de l’Impact Sociétal et Environnemental (DISE). Elle pilote les actions visant à réduire l’empreinte environnementale sur ses campus et en faire des lieux de vie plus durables et plus respectueux des normes environnementales et sociétales (Campus for Good), produire et diffuser des connaissances pour faire advenir le changement (Knowledge for Good) et mobiliser tous ses publics en faveur de la transition (People for Good).

Dans le cadre de cette stratégie, la DISE a souhaité s’engager dans le processus de labellisation DD&RS afin de recenser et valoriser les initiatives individuelles ou collectives, en identifier de nouvelles et poursuivre puis intensifier cet élan. Ce label DD&RS permet aux établissements détenteurs d’avancer ensemble, avec une méthodologie et un référentiel commun impliquant toute l’organisation sur ces sujets primordiaux.

Le comité de labellisation DD&RS a particulièrement souligné la pertinence de la stratégie « School for good » de l’EM Normandie, ses actions en termes de recherche et innovations ainsi que la qualité de sa politique sociale envers les collaborateurs et les étudiants.

Obtenir ce référentiel dès la première candidature, prouve que notre mobilisation sur ces sujets ainsi que nos actions ont du sens et de l’impact. Cela conforte notre philosophie « School for Good » et notre ambition d’avoir un impact sociétal et environnemental positif à horizon 2030. Nous devons continuer à progresser, encourager et fédérer l’engagement de chacun autour de ces valeurs » explique Solène Heurtebis, Directrice de la DISE.

The Label Committee has just awarded the DD&RS Label for Higher Education to EM Normandie, for 2 years. This standard underlines the commitment of the Business School and all its stakeholders to an environmental and societal impact, and supports its 'School for Good' approach, the school's guiding principle.

Since 2015, the labelling scheme, known as the DD&RS Label – for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility – for higher education, covers the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined at international level and is structured around five axes, derived from the DD&RS Reference Framework, covering all areas of sustainable development:

• Strategy and governance,
• Education and training,
• Research and innovation,
• Environment,
• Social policy.

It provides national and international recognition for the sustainable development and corporate social responsibility initiatives of French higher education and research establishments. It also enables institutions to develop their skills as part of a group of committed institutions through participating in the labelling committee and through auditing candidate institutions.

Recent years have been marked by profound changes in society. The younger generation has expressed the wish for a fairer, more just, and reasonable world. EM Normandie, inheriting the social values of its founder Jules Siegfried, who founded the school in 1871, has therefore been seriously considering the impact of a Grande Ecole on its environment and, in 2021, started coming up with a strategic plan. The new 'School for Good' model mobilises the entire organisation around a common project: to have a positive societal and environmental impact by 2030 and to involve all stakeholders, employees, students, institutions, and partners in this change.

With this in mind, in 2021 the school created the Societal and Environmental Impact Department (DISE). It covers all actions that are aimed at reducing its campuses’ environmental footprint and making them more sustainable places to live, that are more respectful of environmental and societal standards (Campus for Good), as well as producing and disseminating knowledge to bring about change (Knowledge for Good) and mobilising all its audiences to support transition (People for Good).

As part of this strategy, DISE decided to embark on the DD&RS labelling process in order to take stock of and promote individual and communal initiatives, identify new ones, and continue and intensify this momentum. This DD&RS label enables establishments with this label to progress forward together, using a common methodology and reference system that involves the whole organisation in these vital issues.

The DD&RS labelling committee particularly emphasised the relevance of EM Normandie's 'School for Good' strategy, its actions in terms of research and innovation, and the quality of its social policy for employees and students.
