L’EM Normandie, 1ère Grande Ecole de commerce à rejoindre le club réservé aux dirigeants d’entreprises de The Shift Project / EM Normandie becomes the first business school to join The Shift Project's exclusive business leaders club

L’EM Normandie est la première Grande Ecole de commerce à rejoindre le club entreprise de The Shift Project. Ce nouveau partenariat, suite logique de son engagement auprès du Think Tank en 2022, avec notamment sa participation à 2 rapports majeurs, permet à l’école d’affirmer son engagement fort dans la transition vers une société bas carbone et de renforcer ses liens avec cet acteur clé dans la transformation du secteur de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche.  

Créé en 2010, The Shift Project est une association d’intérêt général qui milite pour la décarbonation de l’économie, et formule des constats et des propositions pour opérer une transformation en ce sens à la bonne vitesse. Ses membres sont majoritairement des entreprises et l’EM Normandie devient, avec cette convention de partenariat, la première Grande Ecole de commerce membre du Think Tank.

En 2022, l’Ecole a établi un partenariat avec l’ONG The Shift Project afin que des étudiants volontaires encadrés par des enseignants-chercheurs, participent à la rédaction de deux rapports sur la manière de mobiliser l’enseignement supérieur pour le climat. Ces projets ont ensuite été présentés au Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche.

Comme le rappelle Jean-Marc Jancovici, président de The Shift Project, « l’enseignement auquel j’ai eu droit est essentiellement fait pour un monde qui reste identique à lui-même, voire qui devient à chaque fois un peu plus abondant, dans toutes ses caractéristiques. Or le monde qui s’annonce, ce n’est pas ça, malheureusement. C’est pour ça qu’il est important d’acquérir d’autres réflexes, d’autres boîtes à outils, etc. Former 100 % des étudiants à la transition écologique, ça implique des transformations profondes ».

En s’associant à la marque The Shift Project, très puissante auprès des étudiants comme des professionnels, l’EM Normandie soutient un Think Tank sérieux qui bénéficie d’une écoute auprès des décideurs et ajoute une nouvelle corde à son engagement vers une école à impact positif à horizon 2030. Avec ce partenariat, l’Ecole devient mécène de The Shift Project et renforce son partenariat académique actif dans la production de rapports scientifiques.

En rejoignant le club entreprise de The Shift Project, l’EM Normandie aura accès à un accompagnement de l’ONG pour réaliser sa transition et ses dirigeants pourront échanger avec d’autres chefs d’entreprises et profiter de retours d’expériences. Ils pourront également bénéficier d’une formation poussée sur les enjeux climat, formation importante et recommandée par les différents plans de transformation proposés par le Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche.

EM Normandie has become the first business school to join The Shift Project's business club This new partnership is a logical continuation of the School’s commitment to the think tank in 2022, including its participation in two major reports. The partnership serves to reaffirm its strong commitment to the transition to a low-carbon society, and to strengthen its links with this key player in the transformation of the higher education and research sector.  

The Shift Project, created in 2010, is a non-profit organisation which campaigns to decarbonise the economy, and puts forward observations and proposals to push forward this transformation at the required pace. The majority of its members are businesses, and through this partnership agreement, EM Normandie has become the first business school member of the think tank.

In 2022, the School established a partnership with the NGO The Shift Project, enabling student volunteers supervised by teacher-researchers to participate in the drafting of two reports on how to get higher education involved in climate action. These projects were then presented to the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. 

Jean-Marc Jancovici, Chairman of The Shift Project, reiterates, "the education I received was essentially designed for a planet which will remain the same or become ever more abundant in all of its aspects. And yet, unfortunately our future world is not like this. That's why we really need to equip ourselves with new tools and coping mechanisms. Major transformation is required if we want to train all of our students on the green transition".

By partnering with The Shift Project brand, which is very powerful among students and professionals alike, EM Normandie is supporting a reputable think tank which holds sway with decision-makers, and adding a new credential to its commitment to become a business school with a positive impact by 2030. The partnership makes the School a patron of The Shift Project, and boosts its active academic partnership for the production of scientific reports. 

By joining The Shift Project's business club, EM Normandie will be able to access the NGO’s support for its transition, and its leaders will be able to talk to other business leaders and receive feedback. They will also be able to benefit from in-depth training on climate issues. This key training is recommended by the various transformation plans proposed by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
