EM Normandie redesigns its programs around key competencies for business success
Because the employability of its graduates is one of its top priorities, EM Normandie is one of the first Business Schools to restructure its programs around key competencies to be acquired during the course. In line with ministerial guidelines, this approach enables future professionals to adopt the same language as recruiters, by highlighting concrete know-how. What's more, it highlights their ability to adapt and reinvent themselves, and to meet the economic, social and environmental challenges of today and tomorrow. It will be implemented progressively, from the start of the 2025 academic year, within the Grande Ecole Program, the IBBA and the Bachelor in Management.
" Our mission is to enable students to evolve as responsible managers, free to think, learn and create in a sustainable world. Our programs are designed to enable our students to build attractive profiles that recruiters love, and to enter the job market directly. We no longer train our students for specific professions, but rather to acquire the skills they need to be agile and adaptable in a constantly changing world ", explains Anne-Sophie COURTIER, Director of Programs at EM Normandie.
A skills-based teaching approach that permeates all programs
Understanding business, harnessing data, leading innovative projects, managing and uniting people...: the entry points to the programs are no longer the traditional subjects, but the skills that students will develop over the course of their training. To achieve this, these are broken down into skills acquisition modules, comprising theoretical courses and practical applications. Of course, all the elements of the Test and Learn approach, which is part of the school's DNA, are included: international experiences, challenges, assignments, internships, work-study programs, community life, research work... EdTech teaching methods are part of this new approach, with a strongEM Normandie's determination to explore new ways of learning that are ever more immersive, playful and gamified, with a dedicated in-house team.
Exclusive Responsible skills repositories
As a member of the CDEFM (Conférence des Directeurs d'Écoles Françaises de Management), EM Normandie is introducing the Responsible Competencies framework, exclusive to the consortium. The aim is to raise students' awareness of SD and SR issues, and train them in the use of responsible tools and practices (circular economy, responsible finance, etc.). At the same time, trained through Task® and Sullitest, students learn to take a critical and constructive look at organizations' practices and develop innovative solutions.
Strong positioning for EM Normandie's 3 flagship programs
The Grande Ecole Program (PGE) : a course of excellence to train Top Managers
Awarded a Bac+5 and a Master's degree by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the PGE program trains high-level generalist managers capable of supervising specialists. Each semester, students work on a specific theme: learning to learn, developing an entrepreneurial spirit, getting involved in CSR, expatriation, experimentation, management... and specialize in the Master's cycle by choosing one of the 6 majors offered, linked to the major fields of management (Finance, Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Digital Innovation, Responsible Manager and Consultant). They gradually acquire the essential skills needed to effectively enter the market and manage their careers: Projecting oneself in a changing world / Building an innovative and sustainable strategy / Doing business differently / Acting in a digital and data-driven mode / Developing one's business / Managing responsibly / Committing to global performance. Professionalization through internships, challenges and work-study programs, as well as an international focus, are the backdrop to the program - a model that is not yet widely used in the world of Grandes Ecoles. The program also offers - a model not yet widely used in the world of Grandes Ecoles - the opportunity to study abroad from the Post Bac level, and to complete the entire curriculum outside France. The possibility of obtaining a double PGE/MSc® diploma at no extra cost makes the program even more attractive to students wishing to pursue an international career.
A stronger international dimension for the IBBA, with 4 countries in 4 years
The 100% English-language IBBA program trains middle managers capable of evolving in a multicultural environment. A generalist program, its distinctive feature lies in its itinerant course in Europe and Asia, with the opportunity to work on consulting projects for local companies in each country. Students spend their first year of study in Paris, where they learn about Sustainable Development (SD), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Made in France. They then fly off to Dublin to deepen their skills in the tech and digital fields. They then focus on logistics and supply chain management in Dubai. Finally, they complete their studies in Oxford, specializing in finance. They immerse themselves in the cultural specificities of each country, developing their ability to adapt and their understanding of international cultural issues.
A highly operational 3-year Bachelor's in Management, to be customized
With a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of higher education, the Bachelor's in Management is firmly rooted in the local area, and can be taken 100% in French (English courses are available in year 3). In 3 years, it enables students to develop the key skills needed to become middle managers in finance, human resources, marketing and logistics.
A first in the world of Grandes Écoles, the immersive semester offered in2nd year enables students to devote 6 months to a project they are passionate about. They can join an international humanitarian association, engage in civic service, take a specialized course to acquire new expertise, embark on an entrepreneurial project, or join a campus in Dubai, Dublin or a partner university. It's a unique opportunity to explore your passions and develop your skills.
The Parcours Carrière and theEM Normandie Alumni Association complete the learning experience and promote the professional integration of future graduates, with personalized coaching to help them develop their network and personal branding, and build a career plan to match their ambitions.
